Julia Halpin

Systemic Psychotherapist

I'm Julia, a UKCP-registered Systemic Psychotherapist with over 35 years of experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN), including 22 years in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and 13 years in Adult Mental Health.
I work with individuals, couples, and families to help them understand the patterns of interaction that shape their relationships and wellbeing.
Systemic psychotherapy offers a compassionate, non-blaming approach that creates space for each person's perspective to be heard and valued, working to support clients facing anxiety, communication difficulties, neurodiversity, self-esteem issues, and family conflict.
I also offer supervision to qualified and trainee Systemic Psychotherapists & Systemic Practitioners.

About Systemic Psychotherapy

Growth and transformation symbolized by a plant - representing personal development through Systemic Psychotherapy

What is Systemic Psychotherapy?

Systemic Psychotherapy focuses on relationships — how we communicate, interact, and influence one another. It sees difficulties not just in individuals, but in the patterns and dynamics between people, such as couples or families. Rather than assigning blame, it creates space for everyone's voice to be heard and understood.

Using open, reflective questions, systemic therapy helps identify unhelpful patterns and explore what new ways of relating might look like. By focusing on what's happening between people — not just within them, it supports families and couples to move forward together with more clarity, empathy, and connection.
